Spectrum's ideal candidate to meet the requirements of the Staff Accountant should have the following capabilities:
Responsibilities:
Take charge of preparing journal entries, money moves, payments, billing, administrative system accounting reports, and/or consolidated statements. Examine and maintain the general ledger accounts.
Generate and analyze various accounting reports, including comparisons to forecast, budget, and previous years. Coordinate revenue and expense accruals when necessary and ensure the monthly and quarterly close is accurate and punctual. Conduct variation and trend analysis for significant general ledger accounts and reports.
Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures, and process enhancements to support general accounting functions and management initiatives.
Verify the work of and provide guidance to less experienced accountants/bookkeepers. May offer functional advice or training to junior accountant positions.
Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations (as applicable) in relation to financial matters.
Requirements
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Hold a degree in accounting from an accredited College/University
Demonstrate a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation
Have experience in preparing and analyzing financial reports, such as variance analysis, budget vs. actuals, and forecasts
Familiarity with corporate policies and GAAP standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and agreements
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software, including Quickbooks
Knowledge of Local & US GAAP, ACH Payments, Check Reconciliations, Cash Applications, and EXCEL
Experience with Manufacturing ERP a plus
