Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

We are looking for a committed 1:1 support professional to work closely with a Year 1 child who has developmental delay and is working below Reception level. The child requires targeted support with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), speech and language, interaction needs, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This temporary position is based at a friendly and inclusive primary school in Warwick, with the possibility of becoming permanent if the placement proves successful. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a young child's educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support tailored to the needs of a Year 1 child with developmental delay, SEMH, speech and language, interaction difficulties, and ASD.

* Assist in delivering activities and interventions aimed at enhancing communication, social skills, and emotional well-being.

* Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet the child’s developmental level, ensuring they remain engaged and supported.

* Implement strategies to support the child’s emotional regulation, promote positive behaviors, and foster independence.

* Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where the child feels safe and confident in their learning.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and other school staff to ensure the child’s progress is regularly monitored and their needs are met.

* Be open to feedback and willing to adopt the school's ethos and inclusive, child-centered approach.

* Maintain clear and detailed records of the child’s progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.

* Communicate effectively with staff and parents to ensure a consistent and cohesive support plan.

Requirements:

* Experience working with children who have developmental delay, SEMH, speech and language needs, and Autism.

* Ability to adapt to the child’s specific learning and emotional needs.

* Willingness to embrace feedback and work in line with the school’s values and approaches.

* Level 2 (or higher) Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

This is a rewarding role that offers the chance to build a strong, supportive relationship with the child, helping them grow and thrive. If you’re ready to make a lasting difference, we’d love to hear from you!
