Location: North Nottingham
Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 p.a depending on experience
Shifts: Days with flexible start and finish times

About the Company:

Our client is an engineering manufacturing specialist based in the North Nottingham region, supplying high-integrity machined parts, assemblies, and fabrications to sectors such as nuclear, defence, aerospace, and energy sectors. With over 40 years of heritage as part of the UK’s critical supply chain, the company is committed to providing high quality components within highly-regulated industries.

Due to year-on-year growth, our client is looking to expand their existing talent quality department and introduce a new role dedicated to focusing on improving and developing their supply chain. As a result, we are in the market for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis.

Due to the nature of the markets our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents, and DBS checks will be required. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Main Duties, Responsibilities, and KPIs:

* Support process validation, qualification activities, and part approval documentation within the supply chain that is in line with standards

* Measure and monitor supplier performance, generate reports, and administer corrective actions as necessary

* Collaborate with Procurement to create and execute supplier audit schedules, conducting audits to enhance process standardisation and eliminate waste

* Resolve non-conformance issues with supplied materials, follow up on corrective actions, and develop standards for purchased components

* Support new product launches, ensuring compliance with established standards, and evaluate supplier data to initiate process improvement opportunities

* Participate in continuous improvement activities and support internal, third-party, and customer system/process audits as required

* KPIs include Right First Time (RFT) / Not Right First Time (NRFT), On Time In Full (OTIF), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for products and audits, and audit schedule adherence.

Ideal Candidate:

* Proven experience in a Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, or similar role within engineering or manufacturing environments that possess machining &/or welding/fabrication capabilities

* Strong understanding of quality standards ISO9001 or AS9100 Rev D

* Qualified auditor

* Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and drive improvements

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Knowledge of Problem-Solving and RCCA
