Learning Support Assistant

Location: Secondary School, Southwark
Position: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-Term until the end of the academic year
Salary: Dependent on Experience

About Us:
We are a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Southwark, dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering their academic and personal development.
Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student confidence and self-esteem.
Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other support staff.
Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
Experience supporting students with SEND is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with students.
A current DBS certificate on the update service is required.
Relevant qualifications in child development or education are an advantage.Why Join Us?
