Overview:

The Analytical Sciences (AS) group supports a wide variety of clientele, including those in the domestic private sector, the U.S. federal government, and trade associations. AS conducts research environmental analysis laboratories, including electron and optical microscopy, mass spectrometry, and inorganic analysis

The successful candidate will support projects by performing a variety of sample handling, packaging, shipping, data entry, and logistics organization in support of a national environmental sampling network.

Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of technical lab procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine tests like turbidity and pH.

 Prepare sampling kits for shipment to collection sites.

Perform the receipt and log0in of incoming samples.

Make and record laboratory observations.

Perform simple calculations and collect and prepare data for evaluation.

Assist with research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.

Arrange and dismantle laboratory apparatus.

Collect, wash and store glassware.

Assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials.

Assist with ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.

Adhere to company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures and agency guidelines (ex. FDA, EPA, and

OECD GLPs)

Label, archive and retrieve data as needed.

Qualifications:

High School diploma and 2 years’ experience

Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel.

Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, including: Lifting weights of up to 40 pounds

Remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time

Performing repetitious tasks with attention to detail and quality

Operating a computer and other office machinery
