Transport Planner - Southampton

Our client are looking for a Transport Planner to join their operation in Southampton, UK

As Transport Planner, you will work closely with the traffic team & other departments to meet daily transport requirements across the UK.

Key tasks include:

Data Input & updating of the TOPS Transport system
Customer service correspondence on email & telephone
Assist with routing the company fleet & sub-contractors as effectively as possible to suit workload
Pricing & routing of transport jobs in the most cost effective way to suit budget
Liaise with Drivers, Sub-Contractors and Customers to check everything is in place & to ensure job completion and satisfaction
Keeping customers informed of job status updates & Late runners in a timely fashion
Booking VBS slots for vehicles onto ports to collect containerRequirements:

Experience in working as a Transport planner for a UK based transport or Freight Forwarding company
Experience in using TOPS
Experience in container work
Right to work in the UK
