Our client, a global marine technology company is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in their offices in Gateshead. You will be producing designs for specialist Naval deck equipment- this is a whole-life technical involvement role. This is an on-site role and the successful applicant will need to be in commuting distance to Gateshead.

Package:

• £45-£48 p/h • Inside of IR35

Responsibilities:

• Develop Electrical Engineering solutions to fulfill client requirements.
• The investigation of Safety and Technical problems
• The development of circuit diagrams for motor control equipment including direct-on-line and variable speed drives.
• The development of cable, and connection diagrams for motor control and control console equipment.
• Carry out Arc Flash assessments and other calculations to substantiate designs

Requirements:

• Established as an independent Ltd company or via an Umbrella Company
• BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience of working in a highly regulated industry
• Design and prepare detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and cableschedules and the production of technical specifications, test procedures, and technical manuals for marine application electrical systems and components.
• Create technical equipment specifications, design reports, test procedures, test reports and service/ instruction manuals in accordance with industry standards.
• CAD competent (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, MATHCAD) and BS EN 8888 for the production of drawings
