As a Alliance supply partner, we currently have an immediate requirement for a freelance Quantity Surveyor on a long-term contract basis, on a hybrid basis.

Working alongside and in collaboration with the client-side commercial team, this role will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of railway enhancement projects.

As the ideal candidate you will be able to work autonomously, with previous experience working on Target Cost infrastructure contracts for a Main Contractor.

Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:

The role of the Quantity Surveyor involves providing commercial support to the Project Team, maintaining a good relationship with the client and the supply chain.
Working collaboratively with the wider commercial and client team, to ensure the successful deliver of projects in line with the Target Cost contractual conditions.
Management of subcontractor, reviewing and approving applications for payment.
Assess commercial risk and implement suitable control measures where required.
Managing project change and resolution of variations.
Timely production of CVR's, budget and cost reports.
Management of spend and allocation of costs against budget.Quantity Surveyor requirements:

Educated to degree level or equivalent (membership of an appropriate professional organisation an advantage).
5 - 7 year's experience of working on infrastructure projects, with rail experience an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge of the construction industry and related supply chains, including commercial and contract administration processes.
Experience working NWR client side or for a Main Contractor, with JV or Alliance contract experience an advantage.
Knowledge of NEC Target Cost contracts
Able to work independently and be autonomous and self-sufficient.
Able to effectively communicate at all levels, both internally and externally.
Computer literate including ability to utilise in-house and external software.Quantity Surveyor Benefits:

Long-term contract (inside ir35), with potential for a further 4+ year's worth of contract extensions.
Working on one of the UK's largest infrastructure and Alliance contracts.
Working on a hybrid basis.
