White Label are excited to partner with a leading engineering and manufacturing company in their search for an experienced Technical Manager. This role is integral to supporting the company’s continued innovation and high standards in materials processing.

About the Company
Our client is a renowned global player in the industrial sector, specialising in designing and manufacturing high-performance equipment for industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and materials handling. With a long-standing reputation for delivering tailored solutions, they play a vital role in enabling businesses to process and handle materials effectively.

Benefits / Package details:

* Base salary up to £55k

* Bonus scheme up to 20% of your basic salary

* Death in service x3

* 23 days plus bank holidays

* Hybrid working on offer

* 1:30pm finish on a Friday

* Laptop and mobile phone provided

The Role: Technical Manager
This is a technically focused, customer-facing role where you will act as the subject matter expert on all things materials-related, across the company’s diverse range of services. You will work closely with both internal teams and external customers to ensure the highest levels of product quality, efficiency, and compliance are met.

As the Technical Manager, you’ll manage and improve processes and technologies used to monitor material characteristics and quality. This includes oversight of the company’s laboratory, along with coordinating with third-party specialists when needed. Your expertise will drive the development of solutions to meet complex application challenges, helping to advance the company's technical knowledge and enhance overall performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Manager:

* Serve as the company’s primary resource for all material-related technical support.

* Lead the development and maintenance of systems for data-driven decision-making in material design, manufacturing, and processing applications.

* Manage the internal laboratory team, ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practice and high safety standards.

* Interface with customers to understand their material specifications and provide robust technical solutions.

* Lead root cause analysis, FMEA, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce failures.

* Build and expand the company’s material-related knowledge base through continuous learning and research.

* Provide technical support on the transportation of hazardous materials and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Strong background in chemistry, material science, or a related technical discipline.

* Experience in a customer-facing technical role, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

* Skilled in data analysis, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and process improvement.

* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly.

Location
Primarily based in Chesterfield, UK, with the flexibility for some hybrid working. Occasional travel within the UK and Europe may be required.
