Key Responsibilities:

Acting as Lead Design Engineer for bridges and ancillary civil structure projects
Undertaking and checking the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs
Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery
Providing technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues
Involved in projects from conception to completion, including:
Supporting the Project Manager in clarifying project briefs and agreeing deliverables
Establishing project checking and approval arrangements
Managing internal project start-up meetings and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and control strategy
Undertaking significant elements of the detailed design and checking outputs
Assessing, documenting, and communicating design changes
Reviewing completed projects and recommending improvements to technical policies and design solutions

Job Requirements:

A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering
Significant experience in structures design, particularly with bridges and ancillary civil structures
Proficiency with design to Eurocodes and DMRB
Experience using structural design and analysis software such as STRAP, Autodesk Bridge Design, LUSAS or similar
Strong project governance experience and a successful record of project delivery
Ability to identify client opportunities and build productive relationships
Fluent communication skills and the ability to produce clear reports in English
Chartered Membership of the ICE or IStructE, or working towards chartership with imminent completion of IPD
Possession of a full UK driving licence
