Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Group Bookkeeper to join our team.
This is a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the group and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping across multiple companies within the group, preparing accounts, managing ledgers, and supporting month-end procedures. This role will grow with the businesses that have continued to double in size each year.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate financial records for multiple companies within the group using Xero.
* Preparing and processing sales invoices, purchase invoices, and payments.
* Processing Payroll on a monthly basis.
* Managing the group’s accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
* Reconciling bank accounts and intercompany transactions.
* Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Collaborating with senior management to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
* Providing financial insights and support for budgeting and forecasting.
* Assisting in process improvements and streamlining accounting procedures across the group.
* Ensuring Cash Flow forecasts are in place and met
* Working closely with the external accountant to prepare year end.
Key Requirements
* AAT qualification or equivalent; ACCA/CIMA qualification desirable but not essential.
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within a group of companies.
* Strong understanding of UK accounting principles, VAT, and tax regulations.
* Experience using Xero accounting software is essential.
* Have some knowledge of Gocardless and Dext software.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial reporting tools.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders across the group.
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify areas for process improvement.
* Open to working across multiple offices in and around Loughborough
