Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client BAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security industry, is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position based in Christchurch, with a duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks to design and develop mechanical hardware components
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project requirements and specifications
Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to validate design performance and functionality
Create and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports
Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for improvements
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and recommend innovative solutions
Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality designs within set deadlines

Job Requirements:

Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
Qualification in mechanical engineering
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
