SEN Teaching Assistant for Pupil Referral Unit in Salford
Are you a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant ready to inspire and support students with additional needs? We are working with a primary school who are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Salford. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging environment and is eager to make a difference in the lives of young people. This position is available for an immediate start!
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Pupil Referral Unit, (Primary) Salford
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this PRU, you will be working with students who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting the teacher deliver a tailored curriculum that meets each student's individual needs, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis.
* Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive behaviour and academic progress.
* Work closely with a team of dedicated professionals, including teachers, to provide comprehensive support to each pupil.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
Requirements:
* Team-Teach trained.
* Previous experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
* Experience working in a PRU or with students with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude.

* Be a committed professional.
* Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person.
* Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one.
* Have the legal right to work in the UK.
