Mortgage Collections Officer - Inside IR 35 - £180 PD

Our trusted partner, a FTSE 250 financial services corporation hiring a mortgage collections officer who has direct experience in end to end mortgage collections covering buy to let and residential products within the banking domain. To be successful you must have capabilities in MI collation, litigation and undertaking complex financial support to support clients customers. This will include, early arrears, obtaining court orders and processing through to auction. You will be required to travel to site for 2-4 weeks for induction then will be able to work remotely for the remainder of the 6 month contract.

Core responsibilities:
  • Through effective questioning and listening skills, discuss with customers how and why their account is in arrears, identifying root causes and future barriers, always ensuring that dialogue is in keeping with the principals of the company's treating customers fairly principles.
  • Be able to effectively undertake all aspects of Financial Support in the end-to-end arrears management journey.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for mortgage arrears with priority on achieving fair customer outcomes.
  • Act as a coach and role model, supporting the development of less experienced team members.
  • Carry out personal development to keep your own skills up to date.
  • Support achievement of departmental SLA's and any issues/concerns are referred on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation's Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do.
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation's Data Governance Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed.
Key experience:
  • Recent experience working within a Financial Support environment in a secured lending/mortgage services focusing on buy to let/residential mortgages is essential.
  • Previous experience of undertaking complex financial support, litigation and receivership activities, including holding and using your own delegated authority to support customers is essential
  • Proven capabilities in the full mortgage collection life cycle is a must.
  • Accreditation via any applicable Debt Management certification or Apprenticeship is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience of MI collation and output production is desirable.
  • Previous experience of coaching and mentoring is desirable.
  • Intermediate skills in respect of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
