About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Leyland, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time, long-term, and temp to perm role, starting after the October half-term.
The successful candidate will work closely with primary and secondary-aged students, providing one-on-one and small group support to help them manage challenging behaviours and achieve their educational goals. You will be working from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to students with SEMH needs, both in the classroom and during activities.
Implement behaviour management strategies and assist with individual learning plans.
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, helping them navigate challenges and develop positive coping strategies.
Work closely with the teaching team to create a nurturing, structured environment for all students.
Provide one-on-one or small group support, encouraging academic progress and social development.
Adapt and tailor support to meet the individual needs of each student.
Requirements:

Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.
A resilient, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
