Homelessness Caseworker/Housing Support Worker

Make a Real Difference in People’s Lives

Are you compassionate, committed, and equipped with essential life skills? If so, this could be the role for you. Use your experience and empathy to support people facing homelessness, substance misuse, involvement with the criminal justice system, or mental ill health.

At our specialist homelessness service, we aim to help individuals break the cycle of homelessness by providing not just a roof over their heads, but the emotional and practical support needed for them to regain control of their lives. We believe in being kind, doing the right thing, and celebrating diversity—values that are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Caseworker, your kind and caring nature will be crucial. You’ll work one-on-one with our residents each week, helping them set and achieve their personal goals. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to build strong, professional relationships with vulnerable adults, and your love of new ideas will mean you’re always ready to explore creative ways to enhance their support.

This role involves working as part of a dedicated team that pulls together to provide round-the-clock support, 7 days a week.

What We’re Looking For:

* A deep understanding of the housing support needs of vulnerable adults, particularly those with mental health issues.

* A flexible, outcome-focused, and compassionate approach to support, in line with our commitment to doing the right thing for every individual.

* A strong sense of empathy and enthusiasm to work with a complex and diverse client group.

* Excellent literacy, listening, and verbal communication skills.

* Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and email) to document support plans and communication.

* Effective IT skills and the ability to use technology effectively to manage support plans, communication, and reporting.

* A passion for keeping promises, delivering support as agreed, and following through with commitment.

If you’re looking for a role where you can truly make a positive impact, this is it.

Join us in supporting our residents on their journey toward independent living and a brighter future.

At Peabody, our purpose is to help people flourish. Here just a few of the benefits for you working with us:

* 25 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays

* Flexible benefits scheme, including options for Healthcare, Dental care, Critical illness cover, vouchers, technology scheme and access to a discount portal.

* 4 x Life Assurance

* Sleep in allowance

* Professional development by access to "paid for" apprenticeship programs and qualifications

* Two additional paid volunteering days each year

* Family friendly policies

* Up to 10% pension contribution matched 1:1

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. You’ll need to be able to work shifts, early, late, including some weekends and bank holidays, plus sleep ins.

On average there are two sleep ins per week, with an additional sleep in, every three weeks. These sleep ins amount to an additional income of up to £8,965.00 per year (on top of your annual salary above).
