Production & Materials Planner/Buyer
My client is an established scientific solutions company, seeking a dedicated Production & Materials Planner/Buyer to join this small, dynamic team. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and purchasing of materials within their manufacturing processes, contributing to the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the procurement manager and a close-knit team of three to manage material requirements and production schedules.
Plan and purchase materials in alignment with production needs, utilising MRP/ERP systems.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Ensure material availability to meet production deadlines while optimising inventory levels.Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar planning and buying role within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and a solid understanding of planning and procurement principles.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of driving cost-saving initiatives.
CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: 32 hours per week, 4-day week (business closed on Fridays)
