Our client is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Technician for their Thames terminal. This is a hands-on permanent role focused on maintaining equipment and systems involving scheduled and reactive maintenance, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will be working 35-hours per week, Monday to Friday form 08:00–16:00, and will be entitled to a 5% employer pension contribution, increasing to 8% after five years. Other benefits include Bupa health insurance, life assurance and an annual bonus.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Completing scheduled and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating equipment, tanks, and other plant systems
Performing fire pump testing, valve maintenance, and flame arrestor inspections
Ensuring compliance with site safety rules and overseeing contractor activity
Monitoring stock levels of mechanical consumables and reporting usage
Assisting in the planning, fault-finding, and execution of maintenance tasks to ensure plant uptime
Participating in safety audits, redlining technical documents, and contributing to risk assessments and method statements
Providing on-call support as part of the terminal's rota system, assisting with ship connections/disconnections and emergency maintenance tasks
You will need:

NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or time-served Mechanical Technician
Significant experience in a chemical manufacturing or storage plant environment
Proficiency in reading P&IDs
Training will be provided for additional requirements.
