Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Contract Length: 18 months
Location: Reading
Pay Rate: £66.30 p/h Umbrella
Key Responsibilities:
Manage cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle in preparation for major construction procurement.
Compile NEC forms of contract and other commercial documents for procurement.
Develop contract cost models and performance management strategies, ensuring compliance with project briefs, timelines, budget estimates, and all relevant regulations.
Own the commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders, validating and benchmarking proposals to enhance value while maintaining required standards.
Capture, record, and utilize cost data for future procurements, reporting into the Estimating Benchmarking database.
Identify commercial opportunities and mitigate risks during the procurement phase for sound contract awards.
Uphold high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Essential Qualifications:
Significant experience in complex major construction projects.
Familiarity with public contract regulations.
Background in Defence, Nuclear, Utilities, or related infrastructure environments.
Chartered or working towards MRICS or similar qualification.
Proven ability in cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle.
Capability to design contractor performance management and incentivisation approaches.
Experience in commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders to achieve value for money.
Proficient in identifying commercial opportunities and managing risks during procurement
