Spray Painting Technical Lead required for a manufacturer based in Worthing. The succesful candidate will have experience in a similar role.

Spray Painting Technical Lead Job Overview

To resolve quality problems relating to surface finishing, identifying the root cause, clearly communicating findings, taking containment and corrective actions, monitoring effectiveness.
To work with paint finishing suppliers, contractors and internal and external engineers as required.
To optimise new & existing paint application processes & equipment in order to increase productivity & quality whilst aiming to reduce costs.
To work with the Production Support team on surface finishing health & safety, training requirements and improving first-time pass rates.
To lead the finishing activities associated with new product introductions and any special finishes required by the business.
To be responsible for all the equipment which is used during the paint application process. This responsibility includes all servicing, planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring legal compliance and regular monitoring.
To carry out daily inspections of pre and post painted components and provide clear, concise feedback.
Capturing surface coating related data and analysis it to identify trends and drive continues improvement.
The updating and creation of documentation which supports paint application processes.
To comply with all health & safety legislation and B&W safe working practices.
To be approachable and have the ability to clearly communicate, in understandable terms, to all levels of the organisation through the proper channels.
To provide advice and guidance on painting processes to anyone within the business.
To be enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable in any work that is assigned.

Spray Painting Technical Lead Job Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Spray Painting Technical Lead.
Experience with water based & 2K spray finishes.
Experience with sanding & polishing processes.
Experience working with suppliers on paint related problem resolution and new paint development.
Conversant with the latest legislation around LAPPC, HAV, COSHH, DESEAR etc.
Experience in training others in the application of surface finishes

Desirable Experience / Qualifications:

Previous experience of manufacturing environments.
Wood surface coating experience.
Experience of LAPPC Part B Permitting regulations.
ATA or Level 3 NVQ equivalent.
Math's & English GCSE level 'C' or equivalent.
IS09001:2015 experience.
Six Sigma green belt.
