Process Technologist - Oldham - £25,000 - £28,000 + 33 days Annual Leave + Healthcare Scheme + Career Progression + Enhanced Pension!
The Company
We are working with a market leading manufacturer who are experiencing significant growth. They have a clear path for future company growth and a track record of progressing their employee’s careers. Due to continued growth & an internal promotion, they are looking to add a Process Technologist to their NPD team.
You will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals with a chance to gain exposure to a wide variety of process/NPD tasks in a fast-moving & expanding business.
The Role
The Process Technologist will support in the delivery of successful scale up of customer approved concepts meeting customers quality expectations and maintaining agreed commercials, delivering right first time and on time, acting as the customers main point of contact.
Key Responsibilities
* Involved in the preparation and running of line trials to deliver customer requirements and process improvements
* Reporting of any challenges during trials which may mean a review of equipment capability is required to ensure that process standards are in line with company and customer requirements
* Ensure the output of all line trials are fully documented with adherence to food safety, quality standards and customer requirements are met
* Gather information to support the creation of customer and factory specifications which lead to the production of accurate and appropriate product labelling information
* Build and maintain relationships with operations and technical to enable seamless trials and in the moment solutions to challenges
* Complete organoleptic testing throughout the product shelf-life cycle documenting the findings and making suggestions for recipe reformulations to ensure the required shelf-life is achieved and quality standards are maintained
* Co-ordination of all sample requests including ordering or purchasing of products, booking courier transport, arranging sign off panels.
* Stakeholder management of employees and internal stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
The Process Technologist will either be a recent graduate with a relevant degree or have experience in a similar role and be a forward-thinking individual with attention to detail.
Ideally you will be/have:
* Ideally educated to degree level with food and/or baking specialism or equivalent knowledge gained through on the job training
* Has some understanding of technology and food manufacturing principles relevant to business area and area of responsibility and a demonstrable understanding of technical key performance indicators
* Has experience operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment
* Demonstrates analytical skills and is fully numerate
* Has good communication skills
* Experience in working with one or more of the major UK retailers.
* PC literate (MS Office, SAP)
* Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
