Infopro Digital group are recruiting for a Research Principal on a permanent basis to join its Chartis Research brand.

Chartis Research is the leading provider of research and analysis on the global market for risk technology. It is part of Infopro Digital, which owns market-leading brands such as Risk and Waters Technology. Chartis’ goal is to support enterprises as they drive business performance through improved risk management, corporate governance and compliance, and to help clients make informed technology and business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and actionable advice on virtually all aspects of risk technology.

Given our focus on growing our US business, we are looking for a Research Principal to grow our Research business in the United States and Europe during an exciting, high-growth period. This is the chance to be part of a team providing invaluable thought leadership tailored to the needs of the risk tech marketplace - resulting in an unrivalled level of depth and insight upon which our clients have come to rely. This position is remote or can be located in our Nashville, UK or NY offices.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Chartis team the Research Principal will research, analyze, evaluate, and compare GRC software including analysis of key capabilities which synchronize information and activity across enterprise, risk management and compliance.

Provide in-depth expertise and actionable advice on the broad spectrum of risk, compliance, and financial technology offerings in order to help clients make informed technology and business decisions

Keep informed on risk and compliance technology-related research by reading, and networking with clients, vendors, and analysts, to evaluate and analyze this market

Actively develop the Chartis Research Practice and help socialize research thinking and new insights and positions.

Specialization required in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)

Provide sales support to the US-based team by speaking to and meeting with prospective and existing clients

Provide individualized consulting for clients, which involve presentations of Chartis Research and/or findings to individual companies.

Integral member of research team, reporting to Global Head of Research

Requirements

Position Requirements:

Minimum of 5-7 years subject matter work expertise or direct experience in providing or analysing internal controls, data quality, and risk management related services

Must have a solid understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance and the ability to survey supporting tools and management disciplines which support the GRC paradigm

Ability to offer robust analysis of and recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and compliance programs

Provide a clear understanding of the challenges facing risk and compliance executives, as well as the forward-looking views of technology improvements that are needed to overcome ongoing control issues and support an integrated GRC paradigm

Experience leading a small team researching and/or assessing risks and providing recommendations to support active risk management and mitigation to financial policy, oversight, systems, controls, and data

Experience with GRC tools, technology, and implementation

Experience with security assessments/audits, drafting findings and recommendations, and prioritizing recommendations via quantitative risk scoring a plus

Knowledge of computer forensic tools, technologies, and methods a plus

IT audit experience a plus, product management knowledge ideal

Working experience and knowledge market including the enabling IT solutions to help meet departmental/organizational objectives

Client-facing role with ownership and accountability for projects (incl. day-to-day customer interaction, presenting final reports & recommendations)

Must be highly process-driven with strong analytical capabilities, the ability to task switch, be happy with new challenges, and be able to share opinions and receive feedback from colleagues

Willing and able to push new ideas and opinions to peers, clients, and the wider market.

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Management, Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Strong communicator with evidence of excellent verbal and written skills, with an ability to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply

Responsible for leveraging a team of research analysts to deliver unique, impactful, practitioner-focused insight

Highly collaborative professional with ability to work well both independently and with teams

Exceptional project manager with strong analytical capabilities and first-rate research skills

Strategic mind-set (strong business / commercial acumen) and lateral thinker
