Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering student to Co-op with us during the 2025 spring and summer terms.
The position will be 40 hours / week.
Hours are typical business hours, Mon-Fri
Position is located on-site in Lakeville, Minnesota ((url removed))
Examples of past intern tasks and projects include:
Validating product offering of oven shelving capacities by calculating component deflections, comparing with measured values and writing a report with recommendations
Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing components, research on alternatives and design (solid Works 3D CAD) of new components
Testing of oven chamber temperature and air flow uniformity, installing thermocouples and anemometers, operating data logger, graphing results
The engineering co-op student will be teamed-up with a mentor and will work on a main project and multiple minor projects. The scopes of the projects are chosen such that the intern can complete many of the projects within the co-op period. Additionally, the co-op student will job shadow employees from various departments and learn about the business practices and philosophies of a Fortune 300 company like ITW.
