Prototype Engineer

Are you an experienced Welder / Fabricator (ideally Time Served) who enjoys working in a jobbing workshop? if you have experience operating a lathe, MIG and TIG then this could be a great job for you. Operating jigs and fixtures, fabricating, welding, milling and assembling are all parts of the job so you'll have lots of variety in a dedicated jobshop enviornment.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be producing prototypes for manufacture in both sheet metal and thicker gauge materials.
MIG / TIG, fabrication and some welding will be required.
Reading and interpreting component and assembly technical drawings to produce prototypes within the tolerances will be required.
Producing jigs and fixtures to aid the assembly of products in the manufacturing process.
Work with the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures to aid the assembly of products in the manufacturing process ensuring they are fit for function.Preferred Skills:

Fabrication and ideally welding experience required.
Proven background in a jobbing workshop required with experience of MIG, TIG, lathe, turning and milling.
Operating jigs and fixtures.Working Hours: 8.00am to 5.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-3pm Fri
