JOB DETAILS
Pay Range: $21.50-$24.50 per hour
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
An inventory clerk assists an inventory manager in overseeing and maintaining a companies supply of products and equipment. An inventory clerk job description involves keeping track of all products and supplies, ensuring that stock is organized, and assisting in the unloading and processing deliveries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Counts inventory for official records
Issues material into system from requisition forms
Maintains logs of all products and supplies
Checks actual stores inventory against computerized records
Reports any discrepancies in inventory records to materials manager
Receives deliveries
Assists in unloading inventory from delivery truck
Organizes inventory in stores area
Restocks merchandise as needed
Files all delivery and inventory receipts
Uses inventory software to keep track of orders, returns, and supply
Writes up inventory reports detailing any overstock or missing items
Presents inventory reports at meetings
Ensures that stores is clean and well organized
Moves and restructures organization of stores to make space for new inventory
Assists in cleaning and organizing the material cage at shift end
Pulls any defective or expired merchandise for return
Packs up items for return and creates shipping labels
Facilitates inter company transfers
Submits out of stock to manager for escalation
Reviews shipping and receiving documents for accuracy
Assists material handlers in locating items
Assists materials manager in devising new ways to reduce shrink and maintain inventory control
