SUMMARY

Our 179-room hotel, spa and resort in the shadow of the San Jacintos, Ace Hotel & Swim Club transforms a former Howard Johnson into a mid-century desert oasis. Home to a stargazing deck, a couple of very deep pools and cosmic energy from here to the horizon line.
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation and development of new catering business for the property. Offers superior customer service. Specific focus on wedding contracting, local corporate and social catering accounts.
CORE FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Solicit new business opportunities with consistent business development tactics.
Implement a targeted and direct strategic plan to penetrate specific markets within territory.
Conduct creative site inspections with on-site clients.
Have a refined sense of communication: timely response to inquiries, creative proposals, superb time management skills, effective communication with customer and team.
Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of the competition’s product.
Maintain file base.
Make outside sales calls, and handle all incoming inquiries.
Create action plans on a quarterly basis or as requested by the supervisor.
Attend BEO and other meetings as required.
Ensure financial success of the hotel by ensuring all catering events are profitable for the entire hotel.
Perform special projects assigned by hotel management.
Solicit new and existing local social accounts to meet / exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
Meet or exceed quarterly catering budget.
Maintain/oversee consistent communication with all other departments both verbally and in written form.
Display strong teamwork skills with all managers and departments.
Perform special projects or assignments based on guest’s needs or market demands.
Any other task written or verbal, that is assigned by a supervisor or management

Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives
Technologically sound with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of Delphi software
