Job Title: School Cook

Location: Bramfield House School, Suffolk

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Start date: November 2024

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Cook to join our close-knit team at Bramfield House School located in Suffolk.

About the role

To maintain a cost-effective, varied, balanced and safe meals service to the young people and staff of Bramfield House School.

Main Responsibilities

Plan 4 – 6 week menus for breakfast and lunch for 200 plus students and staff as well as breaktime snacks and drinks, taking into account special dietary requirements.

Lead a small kitchen team, preparing and supervising preparation of meals with a positive and energetic approach.

Be responsible for all daily activities in the kitchen including organisation and supervision of meals service, menu planning, stock control.

Control of hygiene, health and safety and security in the kitchen and surrounding area, ensuring food hygiene legislation is complied with and checking equipment to ensure it is maintained to a satisfactory standard.

Ordering supplies and budgeting.

Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

Be competent in the use of ICT.

Adhere to the policies and procedures that guide practice and fulfil the Statement of Purpose at Bramfield House School.

Maintain healthy and professional relationships with all colleagues and students.

Experience required

Experience of catering for more than 60 people

Experience of catering for people with different dietary needs
