Urgent Care Veterinarian - Build Your Own Schedule!
Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Colorado Springs is a brand-new Urgent Care hospital focused on the highest quality medicine and best-of-class customer experience. The Founding DVM, Dr. Cathryn Doyle, is highly engaged in the hospital's success and is dedicated to fostering an amazing, people-first, highly collaborative team culture. The new hospital is scheduled to open in December 2024, and Dr. Doyle is excited to meet her first associate as they prepare for the hospital opening!
Our hospital, filled with natural light and a soothing color scheme, has a state-of-the-art surgery suite with two surgical tables for multiple emergency surgeries, an on-site pharmacy, an in-house laboratory, and diagnostic capabilities, with oxygen hook-ups for managing respiratory cases.
Our Urgent Care facility features modern, open spaces with bright elements to support a comforting environment for our furry friends. Our location in southern Colorado Springs provides an excellent quality of life outside the hospital, with world-class outdoor activities a mere 15 minutes away and a growing community of local craft beer and breweries, music venues, and social events for all!
The ideal urgent care candidate would have experience in emergency or urgent care, a passion for compassionate and empathic patient care, and be comfortable working alone as the hospital ramps up. Basic surgical skills are a must!
Full, part-time, and PRN positions are available. Full-time Veterinarians work a standard 30 scheduled clinical hours in approximately three 10-hour shifts. Hours of operation are 12 pm - 10 pm. You can build your own schedule. Just let us know what days you would like to work. Join the team and be a part of the growing field of veterinary urgent care medicine.

Responsibilities / Qualifications:
Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is applying
4+ years of experience as a veterinarian required
Leadership/management experience is a plus
Have the ability to lead the team through a variety of cases
Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation with clients
Comfortable providing (and teaching associate veterinarians) general surgery and dentistry procedures
Responsibilities
Build a strong client-first and collaborative practice culture
Hire hospital staff to include; hospital manager, veterinary technician, and other hospital support staff in partnership with SVP talent acquisition and operational support teams
Deliver excellent patient care and ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices
Ensure doctors effectively communicate physical examination findings, diagnosis, and treatment plan, and educate clients on preventative care
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and keep necessary logs up-to-date
Monitor associate doctor performance and stay up-to-date with changes in veterinary medicine through continuing education
Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to deliver quality care and exceptional client service
Ensure all staff treat clients and patients with care and respect.
Partner with the Hospital Manager in managing hospital financial performance
Positively represent the hospital in the professional and local community
