Overview:

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of Accounting Specialists who maintain transactions related to our [customers, vendors] including but not limited to [contract prices, accounts receivable invoices, customer payments, accounts payable invoices, vendor payments] as well as communicating with our [customers, vendors] on matters related to these transactions. 

Reporting directly to the [Senior Manager, Manager of Accounting], this position will play a key role in our daily accounting operations with a focus on establishing processes and procedures to maintaining accurate and timely transaction-level information and leading a team of Accounting Specialists.

Responsibilities:

Review of [customer, vendor] invoices entered by Accounting Specialists to ensure appropriate supporting documentation [Quotes, Contracts, Shipping Records, PO/Receiving, Adobe Approval] and to minimize transaction-level errors.

Approve [A/R, A/P] related transactions including [debit/credit memos, customer payments, vendor payments, vendor invoice adjustments].Maintain compliance with Company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls requirements.

Accounts Receivable [Business Support]:

Maintain database of customer-level contractual pricing.

Review customer invoices generated using multiple different processes [custom billing system, ERP, Excel].

Accounts Payable [Core]:

Review vendor invoices entered in the ERP sub-ledger.

Decision Making Level/Position Level:

Position primarily operates from established procedures and work instructions. May operate or own transaction-level internal controls. Limited decision-making expected.

Position Scope:

Accounting Supervisor position anticipated to manage a functional area of the accounting team leading 2-4 employees.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant related work experience.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated history of leveraging core financial systems (ERP, HFM, BI, Excel, etc.) to process transactional details.

Ability to lead a team focused on transaction processing emphasizing strong attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

This is a Hybrid position; ability to work from home.

Hours are minimum 40 hours per week during company’s regular business hours however evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand;

Work is in a typical office environment; prolonged sitting required (1-2 hours at a time); ability to move around the office to attend meetings; deliver items; gather supplies; set up meetings; etc. lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally.

Work environment:  Usual office setting; close contact with employees for long periods of time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Position may require minimal travel by car and/or plane.

This role requires the ability to work from home in a virtual environment, where the following is required;

reliable high-speed internet access (hotspot not acceptable)

dedicated distraction-free home work environment
