Overview:

The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of monthly accounting and financial close responsibilities, including the recording of financial transactions/journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, financial analysis, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. The incumbent will ensure all assigned journal entries are recorded and that assigned monthly reports and reconciliations are complete and accurate, all within appropriate deadlines. This position will administer specific areas (such as the Institute’s credit card process), participate in annual audits of consolidated financial statements, and assist with oversight of junior staff and review of their work.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and enter assigned monthly journal entries, including balance sheet, revenue and expense, intercompany activity, and net asset transactions.

Update, analyze, and reconcile assigned balance sheet account reconciliations. This includes a variety of liability, asset, and net asset accounts.

Assist Manager, Accounting with the Institute’s tuition billing and receivables management, including the establishment and maintenance of relationships with finance contacts across multiple jurisdictions to facilitate an efficient tuition billing and receivable workflow.

Monitor assigned components of the Institute’s financial results, including measures such as budget vs. actual, current period vs. prior period, and current year vs. prior year. Investigate material differences and elevate concerns to applicable department and finance leadership.

Assist in the completion of the monthly consolidated financial statement and management reporting packages.

Participate in the completion of the annual audit of the Institute’s consolidated financial statements.

Code, maintain, and reconcile fixed asset and CIP schedules.

Maintain multiple aspects of the non-patient Accounts Receivable system, including but not limited to posting, reconciling payments, monthly analysis, and making recommendations for adjustments.

Administer the Institute’s credit card process, including but not limited to analyzing and resolving charge backs as well as managing any credit card disputes.

Keep current on all technical Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting literature.

Assist Manager, Accounting in monitoring the workflow and reviewing work of junior staff.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Specialist Accounting and Finance (CSAF) certification from Healthcare Financial Management Association preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree with a major in accounting, finance, or related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum four years of general accounting, auditing, or financial analysis required. 

Minimum pay range:

USD $54,410.00

Maximum pay range:

USD $94,462.00
