Overview:
In this role, responsibilities will include research of transaction details and completion of account adjustments for returned deposits and payments. Responsibilities including completing of account research, reconciliation of transactions including corrections of fees, principle payments, and interest charges. This individual will provide superior service to members both external and internal and via remote channels. This role will provide support to branch and call center team members through inbound calls and fulfillment of service requests within established service levels.
This role is based fully onsite at our Dublin Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert for check deposit returns and regulations of check negotiation and banking regulation pertaining to check deposits, funds availability, and check return guidelines
Responsible for processing each returned item by accurately debiting deposit share/loan account to collect funds and charge applicable fee; complete daily general ledger reconciliation
Analyze return items and deposit activity to mitigate fraud by proactively protecting funds on deposit and escalate high-risk accounts to management and Loss Prevention
Create member notifications including substitute check copies, disclosures, and other correspondence
Post checks for Collection Agency and Bankruptcy Trustee accounts with high level of accuracy and balancing of general ledgers
Complete check returns and account adjustments for rejected Remote Deposit items; process check holds to comply with Regulation CC
Complete adjustments and reconciliation of Patelco Bill Pay charge backs including debiting of member accounts and creation of member correspondence letters
Conduct research of deposits made through retail branch, ATM, and Shared Branching Network channels to produce check copies and deposit records
Support internal team members by efficiently resolving Help Desk Tickets and responding to incoming Help Line calls within service level standards
Post checks for Collection Agency and Bankruptcy Trustee accounts with high level of accuracy and balancing of general ledgers
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a credit union or financial institution, with customer service or call center experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years previous experience in Remote Deposit Capture, check in-clearings, or returned check adjustments
Knowledgeable in ACH, wire transfers, Zelle etc
Knowledge in NACHA, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Check21Act preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy standards
AAP or NCP Accreditation highly desired
Must have High School Diploma/GED
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred
Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Excel to present information and complex sets of data
Target Base Pay:
$26 / Hour
