Overview:

Provides direct patient services using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment as prescribed by physician.

Responsibilities:

Obtain patient medical history and explain the procedures and address patient concerns.

Produce CT images to specific areas of the anatomy as required by physician.

Perform CT imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the Radiologist.

Properly identify patients according to the organization’s policy and procedure.

Review control sheet or electronic record for correct exam ordered and any additional pertinent information prior to performing exam.

Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam.

Under guidance and approval, administers contrast agents according to specific protocols.

Cooperate with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.

Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.

Provide images to the facility in the desired site format, to include 3D post processing images.

Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service when required and notifies all pertinent team members.

Maintain clean equipment and environment.

Complete required daily QA, room and equipment checks.

Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.

Cooperate with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.

Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program and holds as High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year required.

Knowledge and Skills:

Must be knowledgeable regarding equipment and procedures related to position.

Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in hospital sponsored training programs.

Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.

Ability to fully utilize OBH Radiology electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and systems relevant to this position.

Licenses, Certifications:

Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a permit to practice where applicable. ARRT CT Certified required, except staff that were grandfathered as per the CBA with 1199 dated 09/1/2022.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.
