The nurse is a leader and role model to all staff on how to properly care for the residents during all aspects of their lives. You will be responsible to oversee the general care of the residents regarding health, behavioral and medication administration issues. Also required will be the responsibility to help train and mentor care staff and build a strong team. This is an on-call position, covering care and med shifts as needed. Hours may vary, a typical day could be 8am-5pm.
Duties also include:
Assessing residents needs and assist care givers as needed
Provide caregiving and medication technician training
Maintain Resident files and ensure all items are filed for Medicaid Waiver requirements
On-call for medication or nursing concerns, and assist with staffing
Order and stock medication carts
Conduct daily rounds to observe residents and to ensure nursing and restorative needs are being met
Admit, transfer and discharge residents as necessary
Consult with physicians in planning resident care, treatment, rehabilitation and change of condition
Ensure the proper execution of company procedures, policies and practices
Meet with clients and family members when there is a complaint regarding care or care employees
Quality assurance of monthly ADL sheets, shower sheets, and weights and vitals
Requirements:
Current license to practice as an LPN in Michigan
Current CPR certification
Basic computer skills; experience utilizing electronic charting desired
