At Fetch, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care to pets in our community. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary technician to join our oncology department. As a veterinary technician in our oncology department, you will work closely with a team of experienced veterinary professionals and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of pets diagnosed with cancer and their owners.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarian in all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to handling, restraint, and medication administration

Obtain thorough patient history and vital signs

Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed for procedures

Monitor and document patient progress during treatment

Perform routine diagnostic procedures including blood work, cytology and radiology

Administer treatments, such as chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians

Assist with procedures such as ultrasound, biopsy, CT(computed tomography) and other specialized treatments

Monitor patients during anesthetic procedures and recovery

Provide support to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis through educational and compassionate interactions

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification as a veterinary technician preferred

Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly preferred

Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments

Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting

Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
