Responsibilities:
The Electronic Medical Record Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, maintenance and administration of the clinical records program according to the accepted record-keeping practices of the facility in compliance with state and federal regulations and training and oversight of the Electronic Medical Records.
Monitoring records for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and internal consistency while the resident is in the facility
Assuring that all medical record information is protected, kept confidential and from loss or destruction
Training of all new employees on the electronic medical record data entry and procedures
Auditing records of new admissions, in-house residents and discharge residents according to established time frames, using proper forms and establishing method of follow-up
Developing and implementing a system for advising all disciplines of documentation to be completed or corrected
Working with the team to keep all medical records up to date
Assembling discharge records according to facility format such as obtaining the transfer information necessary for the continuity of care purpose form referring health care providers as needed for specific residents
Qualifications:
EMR Coordinator Qualifications/Requirements
Must possess a nursing license (RN or LPN)
Have a thorough understanding of the principles of best medical record practices
The ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel
The ability to adhere to professional code of ethics
The ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition to the appropriate staff members
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our employees and meeting our obligation to provide and maintain a facility that is free of known hazards. Accordingly, we require certain measures be taken to safeguard the health of our employees and their families; our resident and visitors; and the community at large from the COVID-19 virus, which may be reduced by vaccinations. Therefore, this Senior Living requires all employees to be vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus as a condition of employment. All employees are required to provide proof of at least one vaccination for the COVID-19 virus. If you feel that you are unable to receive the vaccination for religious or medical reasons, please discuss this with Blue Heron's Human Resource Director.
