Overview:

Pharmacist will work primary days, second shifts based on seniority (usually around 8 in a 6 weeks block), every third weekend.

Salary range for this position is $124,592-$146,577; Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, analyzes drug therapy and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services to OSF HealthCare patients. In addition, the pediatric clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice. Although duties may vary by assigned rotation or shift, the following accurately describes the essential job functions: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Licenses/Certifications: PHRM-Pharmacist

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD.) Pharmacy Practice PGY1 OR PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Experience: 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience and within those years 2 years of experience with pediatric patients

Licensure/Certifications: Board Certification in Pediatric Pharmacy (BCPPS)

Other requirements/information: Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other OSF Healthcare personnel when explaining medication use and gathering and exchanging other medication information. Analytical skills necessary in order to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s). This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
