Overview:
The Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Engineering group will be comprised of five engineers and six test engineers. The group performs system engineering for COLUMBIA and Dreadnought Common Missile Compartment (CMC), which includes both US and UK systems. The system engineering group is responsible for the review and assessment of government furnished information (GFI), government furnished equipment (GFE) model development and arrangement integration, weapons system concept development, system requirements definition and management, test procedure development and review, and coordination drawing review.
The candidate will own approximately 50 design disclosures, including cabling diagrams, wiring tables, component disclosures, cable routing and schematic wiring diagrams for both SWS and Strategic Weapons Support Systems (SWSS).
The group is also responsible for maintaining SWSS algorithms and integrating SWS and SWSS on the ship and at the Strategic Weapons Systems Ashore (SWSA) facility. The group will also support development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products for the life cycle of these systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years demonstrated Systems Engineering experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred however, other engineering degrees will be considered.
Candidate must have at least 1 years’ experience leading a team to a successful conclusion.
Candidates must have the ability to manage a group of Systems Engineers, while still meeting budget and schedule constraints.
Candidates should be familiar with EB IPDE or drawing development processes, requirements specification development, and system engineering processes and directives
Candidate must have proven ability to work in team environment with a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of teamwork and communications.
Current Secret clearance required.
Preferred:
US Navy Submarine operational experience preferred, but not required. SWS experience preferred but not required.
Skills:
This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to make presentations to the customer and EB management.
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to ensure customer needs are being met
Achieve cost and schedule objectives
Drive innovation and a continuous improvement mindset
Manage risk to cost, schedule and objectives and establish mitigation strategies to meet performance objectives
Assist with succession planning and knowledge management within the department
Plan and execute training for direct reports
Establish and communicate work expectations; assess overall performance and productivity
