Responsibilities:

The Program Support Coordinator (Bariatric) will coordinate the clinical and administrative operations of the Bariatric Surgical Service. This will include, but is not limited to, coordinating support staff activities, overseeing clinic visits, and surgical data collection. The Program Support Coordinator (Bariatric) will assist with the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of the Bariatric Program. As a member of the Bariatric team, the Program Support Coordinator assists with the implementation of evidenced based practice both within the office and hospital settings in collaboration with the Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Inpatient Nurse Manager, Patient Navigators, and other team members. The Program Support Coordinator collaborates with the patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team to plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor the provision of quality and efficacious health care services and resources to promote optimal clinical, financial, and satisfactory outcomes. Oversees the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) Data Registry system in line with American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and insuring compliance with all MBSAQIP Standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Work or a related field required. Four (4) years of experience working in a health care environment required. Current license as a Registered Nurse, LPN in NJ preferred, or current Certified or Licensed Social Worker registered in NJ preferred. Must have experience working with bariatric patients. Must have certification as Metabolic Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR). This role requires strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate issues as well as monitor and follow up on outstanding items. This role requires leadership skills and the ability to function in the clinical, administrative, and financial environments. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree requirement on a year for year basis.

Work Environment: The position will, on a routine and daily basis, be required to work in a quiet to mildly noisy office environment, and to work with and around electronic and communications equipment during standard business hours.
