Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Test Specialist/Engineer to support the Naval Tactical Grid (NTG) program. The test specialist/engineer will participate in multiple events ensuring test readiness by demonstrating proficiency in developing test artifacts such as test procedures, test plans, test architectures, and test reports. The ideal prospect shall demonstrate ability to understand, configure, and troubleshoot network related communications including tactical links such as JREAP-C and Link-16 and Program of Record (PoR) systems such as CDLMS and LMMT. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

Develop test & evaluation solutions through implementation and development of test artifacts (e.g. test plans, test cases, procedures, reports, schedules); understand advanced system capabilities; propose alternative solutions; analyze system specifications and requirements.

Generate and deliver test results by conducting and completing phases of test.

Independently troubleshoot advanced system issues and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify solutions.

Utilize system specifications and requirement documentations to contribute to test planning, procedure development, execution and reporting.

Contribute to project oriented meetings for the management, progression, and or closure of support activities.

Support training of project personnel.

Complete documentation by collecting, analyzing, summarizing and reviewing information using company and customer approved guidelines for test & evaluation report writing.

Able to stand-in as a Test Lead during testing efforts.

Equipment Used:

Generic PC Workstation. 

Typical Working Conditions:

General office environment

Computer/Equipment lab.

100% on site (no remote)

Essential Physical Tasks:

Potential to travel domestically 5-15% of the time.

Ability to lift 10 lbs on an occasional basis.

Ability to use a computer and mouse on a consistent basis. 

Written Communications:

Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.

Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its delivery.

Verbal Communications:

Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

Active communicator – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Skills/Qualifications:

Four (4) years of desired experience operating various Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, U.S. Military Communication Systems and associated interfaces and computer control equipment.

Desired experience with Navy Command and Control (C2) operational concepts and environments; Navy C2 architectures, participants and operations involved.

Customer Interface Activities:

Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with customers.

Ability to effectively communicate with the customer, NIWC Pacific Center's staff, and peer contractor personnel.

Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks:

Follows Government, company, or project processes and approval methods.

Ability to follow clear established process and team priorities.

Work Schedule:   

9/80 

Must have ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements which may vary depending on criticality and necessity of a given task.

The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in a STEM field preferred

High School Diploma required, with 6-8 years experience acceptable in lieu of Bachelor degree

Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $(phone number removed) annually, DOE. 

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
