Overview:
Assumes assigned shift responsibility with Nurse Administrative focus for all Nursing Service departments
Provides support to clinical departments with administrative guidance; keeping administration appraised of critical issues
Responsibilities:
Reports directly to Associate Administrator of Patient Care.
Visit and help coordinate activities of nursing unit to achieve and maintain continuity of patient care.
Evaluate nursing unit needs. Staff to meet these needs in collaboration with nurse manager.
Give advice for treatment and medications in accordance with medical staff polices and orders.
Arrange for re-allocating personnel during emergency situations.
Interpret hospital policies and regulations to staff members, patients, and visitors and insure conformance.
Participate in staff education. Provide in-services for shift.
Promote harmonious relationship among personnel, medical staff, patients, visitors, families and other departments.
Assist nursing unit during busy times.
Assist in training and provide support of new RN’s.
Qualifications:
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
Current state RN license
Must have a copy of a diploma or offical transcript of the highest level of education
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Completed yearly in-services (Infection Control, Fire Safety, Safety Management and LIFE Fair).
Participated in a work related in-service.
Attends special committee, department and in-service meetings when scheduled and/or required.
Presents in-service for unit
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
