Overview:

Seeking: Patient Account Representative - PART TIME

Hybrid Flexiblity 

Part Time Hours:

Monday - Friday: 4 - 5 hours per day

Start time no later than 9 AM

Hybrid Option Available:

Tuesday & Thursday: In office 

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: Remote

Location: This position will sit in either Franklin, TN, Providence, RI, or at one of our CTC Clinics.

Your Job as a Regional Patient Account Representative:

The Regional Patient Account Representative will monitor patient balances to ensure compliance with group policies and provide information and direction to clinic staff regarding patient financial obligations. 

Job Responsibilities:

Answer clinic questions regarding patient accounts (co-pay, co-insurance, deductibles, etc.)

Serve as an escalation point for patient financial questions or concerns.

Ensure that information is communicated accurately and timely between clinic staff and the region’s centralized billing office.

Review whether assigned clinics are securing patient payments on a timely basis.

​Review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill.   

​Utilize claims clearing house to review and correct claims.  Resubmit electronically when available. 

​Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly. 

​Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation. 

​Manage daily productivity via patient accounting system and productivity reports.  Needs to maintain an average of 30-40 accounts worked per day minimum. 

​Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class. 

Negotiate and secure payment on aged balances. Propose discounts when appropriate. 

Complete Self-Pay adjustment form and submit for approval, see SOP.

Monitor compliance with authorization and referral requirements.

Identify and propose opportunities to increase collection rates and enhance patient understanding and awareness of their financial benefits and obligations.

Monitor and report key metrics.

Audit patient accounts for completeness and accuracy (i.e., signed financial consent(s), Insurance Verification Form (IVF), authorization, Insurance card (front/back), driver’s license, etc.)

​Call and status outstanding claims with third party payors. 

​Report an overview of the week to the BOD and participate in AR meetings. 

​Gather and interpret data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment. 

​Assist financial counselors as needed. 

​Alert Financial Counselors and Business Office Director of all benefit eligibility matters that suggest or challenge reimbursement.  

Qualifications:

Your Education & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.  

3+ years expereince in prior admissions and/or collections experience in a hospital setting required.

Psychiatric experience preferred.
