Overview:

Assists management with daily operations to ensure adherence to legal standards, regulations, and relevant policies.

Responsibilities:

Conducts risk-based compliance reviews to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.

Corresponds with business unites concerning compliance reviews.

Researches and analyzes relevant compliance-related information and makes recommendations on necessary procedural/control changes.

Confirms that practices align with policies, compiles reports for management, advises business units and staff on adhering to policies and procedures, and offers direction to new compliance

Researches and responds to government, legal, and official inquiries

Develops and implements procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Monitor changes in laws and regulations and communicates updates to supervisor.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address compliance issues and implements corrective actions.

Oversees remediation of gaps identified in the review process and tracks issues to closure.

Prepares and submits regulatory and internal workpapers and comprehensive  management reports detailing the results of compliance reviews, findings, observations and recommendations.

Verifies business unit’s practices against policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Becomes proficient in the Department’s Compliance Management Program

Assists with creation of compliance policies and procedures.

Assists with bank wide Policy management.

Conducts research using internal and external sources to help resolve ad hoc issues as they arise

Assists with training programs based on compliance reviews insights and regulatory changes.

Assists in special projects as they arise to enhance the compliance functions.

Maintains effective connections with all business units.

Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, industry best practices end emerging trends in compliance. .

Utilizes and becomes proficient in the Department’s Compliance Management Program

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent.

Three to five years related experience or equivalent.

Strong background in the design of compliance programs.

Commitment to excellence and high standards.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to identify potential compliance risks.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is required, including word, excel and power point.

Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

Working knowledge of Consumer Compliance Regulations.

May need to travel to other corporate offices.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
