Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a vibrant primary school in Dagenham. This full-time role will focus on providing essential support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them thrive in a mainstream classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to children with ASD, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions between students.
Adapt lesson materials and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of the children.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans (IEPs).
Support students with their social skills and assist with sensory needs where necessary.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting is essential.
Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or a related field is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and the desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
