The Role

As the Repairs and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible the day-to-day management of an R&M Division based at WSM, managing compliance for a servicing programme and growing the client portfolio through exceptional service delivery. 70 remote engineers and 25 in the office. There are three managers reporting in directly.

You Will Be Expected To

* To manage all aspects of response and maintenance contracts under your control and take on full responsibility and accountability for the successful operational delivery of a range of work divisions, schedulers, estimators, small works & procurement

* Maintain 100% compliance on H&S

* Deliver the framework SLA’s & KPI’s through the effective management of the R&M division to build the company reputation with our customers and stakeholders.

* Support the Board of Directors in the development and implementation of the 5 Year Business Plan.

* Support the field service manager, call centre manager and others to manage lead engineers, field engineers and schedulers to control the provision of consistent, high quality and customer focused services.

* Provide accurate and timely reports on all aspects of frameworks being delivered including but not limited to production of monthly statistical and qualitative information in respect of KPIs and progress against targets and budgets

* Ensure the effective management of the R&M middle management team to monitor staff performance and initiate corrective action as necessary via the Disciplinary & Grievance procedure.

* Undertake and accurately record work in progress, post inspections, Health and Safety inspections and act accordingly on findings in conjunction with the SHEQ Manager.

* Adopt and develop a positive culture for Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) management ensuring that our staff, customers and the public is paramount and at the forefront of everything we do.

* Effectively manage all aspects of the Repair and Maintenance programmes under your control to ensure that tenants and leaseholders are receiving a high standard of work, on time and within quality expectations and targets

* Assist the procurement team to develop and maintain a database/system to manage parts ordered/used/van stock etc.

* Attend monthly management meetings to report on company performance to the board of directors.

* Chair weekly operational meetings with the R&M managers.

The Candidate

To be considered for the Repairs and Maintenance Manager role, you will have the following skills and experience:

Experience

Demonstrate a track record of proven experience of leadership, motivation, and engaging with teams

Able to work in a very hands business

Good understanding of business activities including ICT, Finance, Governance, Health & Safety and Diversity

Experience in delivering change management processes

Experience in negotiation with clients, customers and workforce

Managerial experience at Business Unit or Senior Management levels.

Skills/Knowledge

Interpersonal skills of listening, relationship management and emotional intelligence

Understands the importance of developing and coaching staff to unlock potential and harness talent management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation, and persuasion skills, including the ability to weigh up and articulate the risk and benefit of various scenarios and propose effective resolutions

Strong analytical, numeracy, literacy skills and IT skills

To be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines / targets / compliance

Team leadership skills.

The ability to demonstrate a high degree of integrity, discretion, diplomacy commensurate with the nature of the post.
