Job Title: Finance Officer (Maternity Cover)

Location: Holborn, London (Hybrid Working Available)

Salary: £37,000 per annum

Contract Duration: Starting 6th January 2025 until April 2026

About the Role:

Our client is an esteemed professional association dedicated to advancing excellence in the field of orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal health. They are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join their team on a maternity cover basis.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, as the Finance Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity, sustainability, and efficient management of their finances. You will support a range of financial functions including managing purchase and sales ledgers, handling bank reconciliations, and assisting with audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Ledger: Manage and process supplier invoices, staff and committee claims, and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
Sales Ledger: Oversee the sales ledger process, manage outstanding debts, and handle ad hoc invoicing.
Membership Finance: Monitor and control the direct debit process, resolve member queries, and handle membership-related financial transactions.
Bank Reconciliation & Corporate Credit Cards: Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards, manage card issuance, and handle associated administrative tasks.
Month and Year End Work: Manage month-end and year-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and preparing reports.
General Finance: Provide high-level customer service, assist with finance queries, and ensure adherence to financial controls and charity accounting standards.Person Specification:

Qualifications: Degree level education or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a finance role with experience in managing month-end processes, working with accounting software, and supporting audits. Experience in a charity or membership organisation is desirable.
Skills & Abilities: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in IT, including CRM databases and financial software.Benefits:
