Full time PE Teaching role in Southampton School

Full-Time PE Teacher – Secondary School (Southampton)
Start Date: ASAP – Contract Until at Least December (Potential Extension to July 2025)
Pay: £150 - £230 per day
Location: Southampton (Close to Totton)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Full-Time

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join our thriving secondary school located near Totton, Southampton. This is a full-time position starting immediately, with the initial contract running until December and a strong possibility of extension through to July 2025.

Job Description:

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive physical education lessons across all year groups. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inspiring students to embrace physical activity, adopt healthy lifestyles, and build confidence in a variety of sports. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on student development in a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging PE lessons that align with the national curriculum.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Build strong relationships with students to motivate them and enhance their academic and physical development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during physical education lessons.
Adapt to evolving expectations within the subject and actively contribute to the department.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and PE assessment requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
