Office based during probationary period, thereafter possibly 1-2 days per week WFH.
Great opportunity for someone with an accounts department background to work with our clients finance team to ensure the efficient running of the department, including the firm’s purchase ledger function and some aspects of legal cashiering.
Key Responsibilities as Accounts Assistant:
* Set up new supplier and expense accounts
* Code and post invoices/expenses to nominals
* Pay invoices/expenses when due
* Complete office account bank reconciliation
* Assist Management Accountant with analysis of nominals and other reconciliations
* Deal with email and telephone queries
* Assist Legal Cashiers in regard to banking of client cheques, billing and other ad hoc tasks
* Authorisation of payments for cashiers
Key Requirements:
Essential personal qualities and attributes
* Diplomacy
* Conscientiousness
* Prioritisation skills
* Self-starter
* Self-confidence
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities
* 2-3 years purchase ledger experience and must be able to deal with a large volume of transactions
* Organisational/administrative skills
* Attention to detail
* Confident telephone manner
* Microsoft outlook/excel confident
* General IT literacy
Desirable skills, knowledge and abilities
* Purchase ledger in a legal/professional services environment
* Previous experience of Xero accounting software
