Responsibilities
Conduct inspections on heavy equipment, such as scrapers, bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, and other heavy equipment to detect and diagnose issues with their engines, transmission, or hydraulic systems.
Develop and implement maintenance plans for all heavy equipment on site, ensuring that each machine is tuned to the manufacturer's specifications.
Take apart engines and transmissions to perform repairs or replace malfunctioning parts.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance on heavy equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain inventory of spare parts, perform regular stock checks, and order new parts as needed.
Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including work orders, inspection reports, and any other relevant documents.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a field mechanic.
Completion of a mechanic apprenticeship/internship program or equivalent training.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with industry-standard maintenance and diagnostic tools.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and be available for overtime work as needed.
Must have your own basic tools to conduct Field Technician work.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.
Class B with the Airbrake endorsement
