Job Summary

The Mental Health Worker at BBHH is perhaps one of the most important roles in our hospital.

The amazing people who fill this role provide basic nursing care, aid with activities of daily living, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse, Director of Intake, and ultimately the Chief Nursing Officer the MHW works directly with patients to ensure their journey at BBHH begins with care and compassion.

The position is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime eligible position with a wage range of $21.00 per hour

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such a High School Diploma or Equivalent, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.

Through prevention, intervention, treatment, and education, we can and we will make a difference not just here in Bakersfield, but throughout our extended communities.

You should have a current CPR certification when you apply or obtain certification prior to your start date.

Additionally, you'll complete a "Handle-With-Care" Physical Restraint Technique Training during your orientation.

This position operates on an Alternate Work Schedule of 12-hour shifts.

Ideally, someone with at least 6 months of experience focused on human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, social services and related field will apply.
