Job Description
• Provides a comprehensive program of classroom, work-based, and community-based activities designed to help students achieve personal and program goals.
• Teach classes of the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) curriculum in the assigned high school daily.
• Uses current and effective teaching methods to teach and instruct students including lecture and hands-on activities tailoring teaching methods to the needs of the students.
• Develops classroom lesson plans incorporating the JAG curriculums along with supplemental materials, activities, and guest speakers to ensure students achieve specific JAG competencies.
• Grades and records students' assignments and assigns and reports letter grades for each student every marking period.
• Formulate and implement outreach activities to recruit and assists in identifying and selecting those students who would benefit from participation in the JAG program and works with school counselors to ensure required numbers are scheduled into JAG classes.
• Provides information and education to students and their parents/guardians about the JAG program and assists them in the enrollment process.
• Assesses each student's educational and employment preparedness and administers required testing and assessments.
• Provides case management services, guidance, support, tutoring, and referral to other community partners when appropriate, to ensure students stay in high school and complete graduation requirements.
• Inputs data into multiple database systems and maintains case files. Provides a minimum of monthly follow-up services to students for a minimum of one year following high school graduation or expected graduation date.
• Monitors and maintains program and participants data and records including graduation rates, positive outcome rates, employment rates, postsecondary rates, full-time jobs, and placement rates.
• Perform other duties as assigned
